1. Enable Battery Saver
Battery Saver automatically activates when your battery drops to 15%, but you can turn it on earlier if you notice rapid draining. When activated, your phone’s screen will show an orange tint, and features like maps, vibrations, location services, and background data will be limited. Email and messaging apps won’t update until opened, significantly extending battery life. To activate it, go to Settings, select Battery, and enable Battery Saver.
2. Minimize Connectivity
Being connected to the internet can quickly deplete your battery. Avoid using mobile hotspots, prolonged GPS, streaming videos or music, and making excessive calls when your battery is low. Frequent calls while roaming can also drain your battery rapidly.
3. Reduce Screen Usage
Google recommends limiting how often you turn on your screen, as it consumes the most battery. Cut back on videos and graphics-heavy games when your battery is running low.
4. Limit Resource-Intensive Activities
To conserve battery life, avoid using the camera excessively and refrain from keeping applications open for long periods.
5. Use Airplane Mode
When your battery is critically low, switch your phone to airplane mode. This prevents unnecessary battery drain while still allowing you to turn it on for emergencies. It’s more efficient than turning the phone off and on repeatedly. If you're in an area with weak service, keeping the phone in airplane mode is advisable, as it won’t consume battery while disconnected.
6. Utilize Wi-Fi
You can use Wi-Fi while in airplane mode, which helps conserve battery life while allowing you to stay connected. It's also wise to keep Bluetooth turned off when your battery is low.
